TASTING

Color : Intense dark red

Nose : Black fruits notes (blackberries), spicy touches (grey pepper, eucalyptus, cinnamon, clove).

Palate : Rich and powerfull wine. Frank attack with light sweetness. Mid-palate marked by a nice freshness with a finish more structured by neat tannins.

 

FOOD PAIRING

Duck à l’orange, jugged hare, prime rib of beef.

Cuvée Chateau Fonsalade Rouge can be best drank at a temperature of 17° and kept 10 years.

 

VITICULTURE

60 year old vines planted in 1957at 282 meters of altitude on the hill side.

Soil : Limestone, clay, schist.

Density : 4000 vines/ha.

Yield : 30hl/ha.

Integrated agriculture.

 

VINIFICATION

Fermentation in thermoregulated concrete vat.

Ageing 20% in oak barrels for 12 months.

Volume 20,000 bottles.

Alcohol 14%
